Arystanbek Muhamediuly has been appointed the minister of culture in accordance to Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev's decree, Kazakh presidency said on March 12.

Muhamediuly was the rector of T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts from April 2008 to the present.

The Ministry of Culture and Information has been restructured under the Ministry of Culture in accordance to the president's decree 'On further improvement of public administration system of Kazakhstan' of March 7, 2014.

Prior to restructuring the ministry, Mukhtar Kul-Muhammed held the post of the minister of culture and information. Mukhtar Kul-Muhammed is currently the advisor to the country's president.
