KazTransGas JSC and Gazprom Gas - Engine Fuel LLC signed a memorandum on cooperation in the use of natural gas as a motor fuel.

"In order to develop markets for engine fuel, as well as pursuing single technical policy on the use of natural gas as engine fuel between KazTransGas JSC and Gazprom Gas - Engine Fuel LLC signed a memorandum of cooperation," the press-service of the KazTransGas JSC reported.

The document was signed by the General Director of KazTransGas JSC Serik Sultangali and CEO of Gazprom Gas Engine Fuel LLC Mikhail Likhachev.

"The main purpose of the document is the expansion of the use of gas engine fuel to ensure the market stability of petroleum products. The memorandum also envisages the creation of a network of gas filling stations on the route of Western Europe - Western China road , the coordination of efforts to develop a network of NGV filling stations and the creation of refitting points of vehicles to use compressed natural gas," the statement said.

At present KazTransGas JSC examines the construction project of NGV filling stations in the gasified regions of Kazakhstan, as switching to natural gas will significantly reduce fuel costs and positively impact the environment.

KazTransGas was established in 2000 to organize the work in the oil and gas industry. The companies and organizations dealing with gas production, transportation and sale are included in the KazTransGas company group.

Starting from July, 2012 KazTransGas JSC is being defined as the national operator in the field of gas and gas supply in accordance with the Kazakh government's decree.
