The UK companies are still interested in making investments in Kazakhstan's economy.

The remarks were made during the meeting of Kuandyk Bishimbaev, the chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan's Baiterek national holding company with the representatives of some well-known UK companies led by the Lord Mayor of the City of London Fiona Woolf, Baiterek company said on Sept.5.

Woolf stressed that the UK companies are interested in investing in Kazakhstan and in developing the capital market in the country. She went on to add that these companies also show interest in the implementation of projects in the sphere of public-private partnership.

Moreover the parties discussed the details of establishing and strengthening the cooperation with the group of companies of the Baiterek holding and the key financial institutions in London.

Woolf believes that the group of companies of the Baiterek holding has all financial instruments to attract foreign investments to Kazakhstan.

Baiterek National Managing Holding was established in accordance with a decree of the Kazakh president dated May 22, 2013. The purpose for establishing the holding was to promote the development and diversification of the economy, attract investments and to improve the corporate governance system in its subsidiaries.

The holding includes the Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, Investment Fund of Kazakhstan, Housing Construction Savings Bank of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Mortgage Company, KazExportGarant, DAMU Entrepreneurship Development Fund, National Agency for Technological Development, Kazakhstan Mortgage Guarantee Fund, Kazyna Capital Management, Baiterek Development JSC, Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center.
