President Nursultan Nazarbayev urged citizens to protect international harmony in his message to the Kazakh people Nov.11.
"We have big and demanding job ahead," he said. "In order to pass a global test of maturity, we must be united. We must build trust among all the people of Kazakhstan, be tolerant to each other. These are the keys to the future of Kazakhstan."
The president said that "interethnic harmony is life-giving oxygen, which we do not notice when we breathe."
"We have to protect our unity and interethnic harmony ourselves," said Nazarbayev. "Nobody will ever come from outside to do it for us."
