By Elena Kosolapova - Trend: Kazakhstan increased steel production by 14 percent to 3.993 million metric tons in Jan.- Dec. 2014 compared to the same period of 2013, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with the reference to the Statistics Committee under Kazakh National Economy Ministry.
The country increased ferroalloys production by 0.5 percent to 1.715 million metric tones, flat rolled steel production - by 11.4 percent to 2.537 million metric tones and galvanized steel production - by 2.6 percent to 527,000 metric tones in the reporting period.
Kazakhstan's tin and tinned steel sheet production fell by 10.6 percent to 77,000 metric tones in Jan.-Dec. 2014.
In the reporting period Kazakhstan decreased its iron ore production by 0.4 per cent to 51.502 million tons compared to 2013.
Copper ore production decreased by 6.4 percent to 38.661 million metric tons, copper-zinc ore production - by 5.4 percent to 5.26 million tons, lead-zinc ore production - by 8.4 percent to 6.663 million tons.
