Kazakhstan discusses accession to WTO with EU

Prime Minister Karim Massimov discussed forthcoming accession of Kazakhstan to the World Trade Organization (WTO) with European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmstrom, Kazakh prime-minister's press-service reported.

The meeting was held at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Massimov noted that Kazakhstan works on the process of joining to the WTO within the conditions that meet the long-term national economic interests.

The sides agreed that Kazakhstan's accession to the WTO will enhance trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU.

Moreover Massimov and Malmstrom discussed the development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union in the trade, economic and investment spheres.
