Kazakhstan’s KazMunaiGas Exploration Production (KMG EP) plans to increase oil supply to domestic market, the company said Sept. 22.

The company expects that its subsidiaries – Ozenmunaigas (OMG) and Embamunaigas (EMG) – will supply 3.37 million tons of oil (67 kbopd) to domestic market in 2016, which is around 40 percent of OMG’s and EMG’s total oil sales.

This plan was approved at a regular meeting of the company’s Board of Directors.

In 2015, the two companies supplied 2.74 million tons of oil to domestic market.

According to the approved plan, 2.67 million tons of oil will be supplied to the Atyrau refinery and 702,000 tons will be supplied to the Pavlodar refinery.

Earlier, it was expected that the domestic supplies in 2016 will be 2.38 million tons, or around 28 percent of the total crude oil sales.

KMG EP is among the top three Kazakh oil producers. Its overall production in 2015 was 12.4 million tons of oil, including the company’s shares in joint ventures.
