Aircraft plant to be built in Kazakhstan

New aircraft plant will be built in Kazakhstan’s North Kazakhstan region, Sputnik news agency reported with the reference to the head of the region’s industrial-innovative development administration Zhanat Sadvokasov.

The project will be implemented jointly with Russian Taganrog Aviation Scientific-Technical Complex.

Kazakh and Russian parties have already signed a memorandum worth 67.1 billion tenge (332.69 tenge = $1) on this project.

The construction will start in 2017 and is planned to be completed in 2020. Russian investors plan to build the plant near the international airport of Petropavlovsk.

The plant which capacity will reach up to 70 aircrafts per year, will assembly regional short-haul passenger and cargo aircrafts Be-132.
