Kazakh president appointed Kairat Umarov to the post of the permanent representative of Kazakhstan to the United Nations, the presidential press-service reported Jan. 4.

Earlier Umarov served as Kazakhstan’s extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to the US.

Previous permanent representative of Kazakhstan to the UN Kairat Abdrakhmanov was relieved from this post and appointed to the post of foreign minister in late Dec.
