The Senate of the Kazakh Parliament at a plenary meeting Oct. 12 adopted the Law "On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Kingdom of Norway on international road transport".

Presenting the draft deal, Kazakh Minister for Investment and Development Zhenis Kasymbek noted that the document establishes the legal norms for the implementation of road transport, Kazinform reports.

Under the Agreement, bilateral transit cargo transportations, as well as transportation to third countries or from third countries, are carried out on a permissive basis.

Currently, road transportation between the two countries is carried out by carriers of third countries, Belarusian and Russian transport companies.

In 2016, the volume of cargo transportation by road between Kazakhstan and Norway increased by 53 percent and amounted to 1,500 tons. This is more than 100 passages, said the minister.
