South Korean company to build solar power plant in Kazakhstan

South Korean investors seeks to invest in Almaty region of Kazakhstan.

A number of companies from South Korea has already visited the region to explore business opportunities.

In Almaty, the Korean New Force showed interest in construction of solar power plant for 200 megawatts in the territory of Uyghur district, according the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Almaty.

The local authorities plan to allocate 300 hectares for these purposes. The first 8 months, solar panels will produce 30 megawatts, while the plant will reach its full capacity after two years. The initiators say about 70 jobs will be created in the district with the opening of the plant.

Moreover following the talks, the South Korean company UNICOM

INTERNATIONAL CO ltd. and the Khorgos International Centre of Boundary Cooperation JSC signed an agreement on the intention to implement projects on the territory of JSC.

"Recently we have noticed desire of South Korean entrepreneurs to cooperate. Therefore, we even think of creating a Business Council of entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan and South Korea, "said Kanat Kabdiyev, Deputy director of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Almaty region.
