Kazakhstan’s National Bank will be relocated from Almaty to Nur-Sultan city, Chairman of the National Bank Erbolat Dossaev said, Trend reports with reference to Kazakh media.

“The National Bank, as the premises are ready, will move first on a rental basis, then we plan to construct our own building. We are planning to move to Nur-Sultan in spring of 2020. The corresponding resolution has already been prepared,” Dossaev said.

He also added that the move will not affect the activities of the bank and, in turn, the joint work with country’s government will increase the quality of forming the monetary policy of the country.

According to Dossaev, the representative office of the National Bank will remain in Almaty, whereas the Agency for Regulation and Development of Financial Market will reside in the old building of the bank.

Last month Kazakhstan’s President Kassym Jomart Tokayev signed the order on re-organization of National Bank.
