A national cluster of artificial intelligence is being created in Kazakhstan, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
Tokayev made the remark during the video message at the international forum "Digital Almaty 2021 - Digital Reset: The Leap to the Next Normal", Trend reports referring to Kazinform news agency.
“It is planned to attract investments worth more than $1 billion in this sphere within five years,” the president added. “The main emphasis will be made on creating a smart ecosystem, the capabilities of which include the analysis of a big data.”
“This will allow building effective models for forecasting and preventing risk, will ensure the maximum effect as a result of the conducted reforms,” Tokayev added.
"For this purpose, a national cluster of artificial intelligence is being created on the basis of Nazarbayev University in cooperation with the World Bank,” the president said. “Data processing centers are being created to efficiently process the growing volumes of information.”
“Over the next five years, we plan to attract investments worth about 500 billion tenge or more than $1 billion in this sphere,” the president said. “Of course, we invite our partners in the EAEU and the region to comprehensive cooperation."
The president said that blockchain technology will be introduced in the tax sector this year.
“Kazakhstan’s tax structures have established effective interaction with their Russian counterparts on all issues of digitalization,” Tokayev said. “Digitalization will also affect the national medicines distribution system.”
“Legal recognition of all basic documents in e-format will be ensured, the protection of personal data will be improved,” Tokayev said.
The annual international forum "Digital Almaty 2021 - Digital Reset: The Leap to the Next Normal" is being held in Almaty with the participation of the prime ministers of the EAEU and leading international experts.
