Kazakhstan to launch industrial projects in Almaty city in 2021

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development plans to launch 9 projects in Almaty city’s industrial zone in 2021 for a total investment of 40.5 billion tenge ($90 million), envisaging to open 823 jobs, Trend reports referring to a source in the ministry.

According to the source, the projects are ‘SK Rakhat’, ‘GSG Vysotnik’, ‘Kaz-Dia-Test’, ‘City Stone’, ‘Alem Tynysy’, ‘Asia steel pipe corporation’, ‘Electrobar’, ‘Valtherm’ and ’Technokont’.

“The new enterprises will launch the production of autoclaved aerated concrete, diagnostic tests for medical purposes, natural stone products, coolants, large-diameter welded steel pipes, electrical products, engineering plumbing and heating equipment, medium-voltage switchgear,” said the source. “Currently, construction and installation work is being actively carried out on the allocated land plots. Some of the resident companies have started work on the interior decoration of buildings, delivery of industrial equipment and landscaping.”

Moreover, according to the source, in 2021, in the industrial zone, it’s also planned to launch 4 small industrial parks and commission 22,000 square meters of production facilities for mining, furniture-producing and light-industry SMEs for a total investment of 3.2 billion tenge ($1 million), where 860 new jobs will be opened.

Besides, by 2025, it’s expected to implement 29 projects in the industrial zone for a total investment of 81.1 billion tenge ($19 million), with the opening of 3,329 jobs. The potential investors have already started the implementation of projects (by collecting the permission documents and developing the construction design).

The total area of ​​the industrial zone of Almaty is 490 hectares, of which the usable area is 326 hectares, and 164 hectares were allocated for infrastructure. To date, 14 projects (‘BRB APK’, ‘Almapack’, ‘DOC Co.LTD’, ‘TOKYO ROPE ALMATY’, ‘KMK Investment’ - the first and second stages, ‘KazTigerTape’, ‘ENKO’, ‘ASSET’ , ‘Technovid’, ‘MPZ Bizhan’, ‘DorKhan-Almaty’, ‘Almerek’, and ‘Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan’) have been implemented for a total amount of 75 billion tenge ($180 million), with the opening of more than 2,000 jobs.

The residents of the industrial zone manufactured products worth 99.6 billion tenge ($230 million).
