A second online auction to receive subsoil use rights will be held in Kazakhstan, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Energy Ministry.
The auction will be held at 09:00 (GMT +6) on Apr. 23, 2021, via the www.gosreestr.kz platform.
Out of the 15 land plots put up for the auction, 8 of them will be auctioned off on Apr. 23, whereas the auction on 7 more land plots was canceled in accordance with the law of Kazakhstan as the number of minimum required participants was not reached.
The auction grants only the right of use of the land plot, not for its ownership. This right is regulated by Kazakhstan’s Law Code, any technological processes at the facilities are to be approved by the Central Commission for Exploration and Development of the Energy Ministry.
Gaining the subsoil use right, the investor enters into a lease agreement with the local executive body. Before developing a project document, each investor is obliged to hold public hearings with the participation of the local population.
