SMEs dominate Kazakh exports to EAEU

The main Kazakhstani suppliers to the markets of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Zhanel Kushukova said, Trend reports.

Kushukova made the remark speaking at a briefing at the Central Communications Service.

First President of Kazakhstan – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev set a strategic goal - to bring the share of SMEs in GDP by 2050 to 50 percent.

"When discussing the EAEU Development Strategy for the coming years, Kazakhstan has repeatedly emphasized that the creation of joint industrial enterprises and strengthening ties between industrial entities of the Member States will serve as an additional impetus to remove barriers in the EAEU market and increase the volume of mutual trade. During the EAEU operation, work has already intensified. in this direction. The number of joint ventures since 2015 has grown from 6,272 to 13,503," said Kushukova.

The vice minister also stressed that Kazakhstan considers the deepening of industrial cooperation to be the central element in the development of the EAEU until 2025.

"At the upcoming Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in a few days, the presidents will consider the main areas of industrial cooperation. All members of the EAEU regard industrial cooperation as one of the tools to qualitatively improve the export line of goods," she said.
