Kazakhstan extends validity of VAT offset method

For some types of goods, the exemption on imports by the offset method, in the form of paying VAT has been canceled since January 1, 2022, and for other types of goods that remained on the list, the tax benefit has been extended until 2025, the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan told Trend.

Since January 1, 2022, from the list of goods imported into the Republic of Kazakhstan, for which VAT is paid by the offset method, the following have been excluded:

1) pesticides;

2) breeding animals of all kinds and equipment for artificial insemination;

3) live cattle.

The validity of Articles 427 and 428 of the Tax Code of Kazakhstan has been extended until January 1, 2025.

The aforementioned changes have been made to Articles 427 and 428 of the Tax Code, as well as to subparagraph 4 of Article 2 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the enactment of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Taxes and Other Obligatory Payments to the Budget” (Tax Code).
