BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29. Kazakh Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Kairbek Uskenbayev spoke about the development of alternative routes in order to increase cargo transportation, Trend reports citing the press service of the Ministry.

“We have worked out alternative routes and corridors for the transportation of export and transit cargo. The Ministry has taken prompt measures to prevent a break in the logistics supply chains of goods,” Uskenbayev said at a government meeting.

According to him, export cargoes will be redirected to Latvian ports (Liepaja, Riga, Ventspils) and to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR).

“Within the framework of TITR, an agreement was reached with Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey on the establishment of a Joint Venture on the route, similar to the United Transport and Logistics Company (UTLC),” the minister added.
