BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9. European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) sees great potential in implementing projects jointly with Kazakhstan, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso said during a meeting with Kazakh PM Alikhan Smailov, Trend reports with reference to Kazakh government.

The sides touched upon a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation on the decarbonization and diversification of Kazakh economy, also development of banking, transport and logistics sectors.

About 300 projects worth $11 billion have been implemented, over the past 30 years of partnership, in such priority areas as finance, infrastructure, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), agro-industrial complex and digitalization.

"The ongoing efforts of EBRD to support Kazakh economy, both in terms of effective recommendations on economic and technological policies, and access to financial resources, are invaluable in our pursuit of sustainable development. In this regard, we look forward to continued effective cooperation," Smailov said.

Renaud-Basso noted that the EBRD sees great potential in the implementation of projects in the sectors mentioned together with Kazakhstan.

In addition, EBRD is currently increasing the share of investments in decarbonization, development of green technologies and renewable energy sources (RES), which may be of interest to Kazakhstan in the near future.
