BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 18. Kazakhstan proposed for implementation, together with Russia, projects for the production and processing of raw milk, vegetable oil, poultry meat and gluten-free products, also other types of agricultural products, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakh Agriculture Ministry.

Ministry noted that this issue was discussed in Russian St. Petersburg during the meeting of Kazakh Agriculture Minister Yerbol Karashukeyev with Russian Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev.

Karashukeyev noted that the turnover of agricultural products between Kazakhstan and Russia amounted to $752.6 million from January through March 2022, which is 24.7 percent more than in the same period of 2021.

He noted that grain crops play an important role in the trade turnover. On average, about 1.5 million tons of wheat from Russia are imported to Kazakhstan annually.

Issues of mutual trade between the countries were discussed at the meeting. At the same time, Kazakh Agriculture Minister proposed to continue work on increasing trade between Kazakhstan and Russia in the sphere of the agro-industrial complex, improving its structure, and expanding the range of goods supplied.

"I believe that the potential in this area is large and not fully utilized. We propose to work out joint projects for the production and processing of raw milk, vegetable oil, poultry meat and gluten-free products, also other types of agricultural products," Karashukeyev said.
