BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 9. According to Kazpost JSC's share of electronic commerce amounted to 9.6 percent of the total retail trade in Kazakhstan at the end of 2021, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Asel Zhanassova said during the first International Forum of E-commerce, Trend reports.

She noted that the Covid-19 pandemic has made adjustments in all areas of life, including the trade area, which has led to the explosive growth of e-commerce in Kazakhstan.

The volume of the B2C e-commerce market amounted to 1.3 trillion tenge ($2.7 billion). Thus, the share of e-commerce amounted to 9.6 percent of the total retail trade.

The volume of the B2C e-commerce market amounted to 654 billion tenge ($1.3 billion), while the volume of retail trade - to 7.5 billion tenge ($15 million) for 7 months of 2022. The share of e-commerce amounted to 8.7 percent in the current period.

In order to improve the digital literacy of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the 'E-Commerce School' platform has been launched, which will help domestic entrepreneurs create and develop their businesses online. At the moment, more than 1,500 SMEs are being trained.
