BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 30. TotalEnergies, a French multinational integrated energy and petroleum company, is interested in building a 1 GW output wind power plant in Kazakhstan, Patrick Pouyanné, the CEO of TotalEnergies, said during the meeting with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, Trend reports, citing the press office of the President.

The total worth of the project, which is expected to finalize in 2026-2027, is $1.9 billion.

Pouyanné stated that TotalEnergies has invested 12 billion in the Kazakh economy to date and added that the company is interested in remaining a major investor in Kazakhstan.

Meanwhile, the President of Kazakhstan highlighted the important role of TotalEnergies in the system of strategic relations between Astana and Paris.

The meeting between the Kazakh President and the CEO of TotalEnergies took place within the framework of the official visit of President Tokayev to France.
