BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 26. Kazakhstan exported 27.2 million tons of coal from January through October 2022 worth $819.4 million, Trend reports, citing Kazakh media.

The total volume of coal exported constitutes an increase of 15 percent compared to the same period of 2021.

Despite the positive dynamic, coal exports in October reduced compared to September. Kazakhstan exported around 2 million tons of resources, earning $54.9 million in the process. In comparison, September figures were significantly higher, with 3 million tons of coal sold and $99.6 million received.

The decrease in export revenue is attributed to the decreasing demand in key European coal markets, including Poland, Switzerland, Romania, and Türkiye.

Meanwhile, the demand in Estonia increased dramatically. Some 2,000 tons of coals were exported in this direction in September, bringing in $0.2 million, while October figures stood at 70,500 tons exported and $12 million in revenue generated.
