(KAZINFORM) - Today in Almaty at the special press conference the European Commission and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Kazakhstan have made public a joint project with the budget totaling Euro 1 mln.
The project designated for 18 months will be carried in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. Its aim is to create humane complex system for giving asylum in conformity with the world standards in the projects member states. Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees is to implement the project, reports Trend.
Trainings and seminars for public servants, representatives of NGOs and public organizations will be held within its frame. Seminars are called to raise peoples awareness on problems of refugees seeking for shelter and provide all the conditions for their stay in the country.
Kazakhstans economy develops and will develop well. The number of migrants will increase as a result. Therefore it is necessary to draft special programs for improving legislation and harmonization of laws on migration. Such programs will let strengthen Kazakhstans position on this issue, the head of the EC office in Kazakhstan Adrian Van der Meyer considers.
