Kazakhstan leading investor of Kyrgyz economy

(Kazinform) Main document signed within the framework of official visit of Kurmanbek Bakiyev to Kazakhstan was a joint declaration on further enhancement of bilateral relations between two states, Kazakh Ambassador Umirzak Uzbekov stated at the press conference in Bishkek.

He also noted that Kazakhstan was interested in progressive development of countries of the region, including Kyrgyzstan as prosperity and welfare in any country was impossible with poor and problem neighboring countries. Kazakhstan tries to help its adjacent states by investments, creation and realization of joint projects and initiation of regional processes, reports Trend.

First results of bilateral cooperation with participation of Kazakhstani investors were opening of cement plant in Issyk-Kul oblast (region of Kyrgyzstan) and sugar refinery plant in Chu oblast. In whole Kazakh direct investments to Kyrgyzstan in 2005 amounted to USD 40.3 million. Volume of Kazakhstans investments is constantly growing in current year.

U. Uzbekov stressed that Kazakhstan was a leader among other 49 countries investing to Kyrgyzstans economy.
