EU-Kazakhstan Co-operation Council met in Brussels

(Kazakhstan today) - The 8th meeting of the EU-Kazakhstan Co-operation Council has taken place in Brussels, General Prosecutor's office said.

Akhmetzhan Yessimov, Minister of Agriculture, co-chaired the Council meeting. Representatives of the General Prosecutor's office, the Justice Ministry, the Ministry

of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Education and Science of RK, reports Trend.

Development of co-operation between Kazakhstan and Europe in political reforms, human rights, justice, bilateral economic relationships have been considered at the meeting.

Merei Vaisov, Deputy General Prosecutor, made a report "Justice and Law, Combating Terrorism Included." Positive initiatives of the republic on improvement of legislative and international legal basis in this direction were reflected in his report.

"The European side marked such positive steps of Kazakhstan in the human rights, justice, and law, as ratification of the UN international pacts on civil, political, economic, cultural, and social rights, introduction of juries, establishment of a financial monitoring authority," - the release says.
