IV international conference on monitoring of nuclear tests planned in Kazakhstan

(Kazakhstan today) - The IV international conference "Monitoring of Nuclear Tests and Their Consequences" is due to take place from 14 to 18 August, 2006, on the basis of the geophysical observatory "Borovoye," Kazakhstan Today reports.

The conference is organised by the following entities: the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of RK, the National Nuclear Centre of RK, a provisional technical secretariat of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, the French Atomic Energy Commission, the Institute of Dynamics of Geospheres and the Institute of Calculus Mathematics and Mathematical Geophysics of the Siberian Department of the Russian Academy of Sciences, reports Trend.

Around 60 speeches will be delivered by scientists and specialists from Kazakhstan, Russia, USA, France, Norway, China, and other countries. Representatives of a number of Asian national data centres will participate with support from the provisional technical secretariat of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty. Representatives of organisations that played a big role in the creation of the Kazakhstani national network of monitoring stations and the Kazakhstani national data centre - the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, the US Air Force Technical Applications Centre (AFTAC,) the Norwegian HРћР РЎРђР , the French Atomic Energy Commission, the Institute of Dynamics of Geospheres of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of the Earth Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences - will speak at the conference.
