(gazeta.kz) - The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development will finance projects for 700 million euros in RK in 2007. Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, has stated this today, December 8, at a press conference in Astana, reports Trend.
"The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development will finance projects for 700 million euros in RK in 2007 including 80% of the investments that will be made into the private sector," - the head of state has said.
Among the projects to be financed by the EBRD the President has mentioned in particular the extension of the Aktau Sea Port.
In total the EBRD has financed 80 investment projects so far. Presently 73% of investments were used for the private sector financing, 23% - for loans to the government and state ventures. The biggest part of the EBRD investments in Kazakhstan was made in to banking, transport, and communications.
