(www.gazeta.kz) - Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, will pay an official visit to Kiev on February 1 - 2 to participate in the opening of the Year of Kazakhstan in Ukraine, Yerzhan Ashikbayev, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, stated at a traditional briefing in Astana, Kazakhstan Today correspondent reports.
"During the visit the head of state will participate in the solemn opening of the Year of Kazakhstan in Ukraine and in a Kazakh-Ukrainian business forum," - the MFA spokesperson said.
"The Year of Kazakhstan in Ukraine has to make our peoples even closer. Events aiming at extension of the bilateral relationship in the whole spectre of co-operation are planned during the Year of Kazakhstan in Ukraine," - Mr. Ashikbayev observed. In particular, it implies "commercial and economic relations, mutual presence of business and capitals in both economies, implementation of promising projects, popularisation of cultures of Kazakhstan and Ukraine," - the diplomat explained, reports Trend.
Meetings with Victor Yuschenko, President of Ukraine, Victor Yanukovich, Prime Minister of Ukraine, Alexander Moroz, Chairman of the Supreme Rada of Ukraine are planned during the visit. According to the diplomat, "a number of bilateral documents on regional commercial and economic co-operation" are suggested to be inked.
