( Kazakhstan Today ) - The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Marat Tazhin and the Assistant Secretary of State for Southern and Central Asia of the USA State Department Richard Baucher discussed prospects of the Kazakh-American cooperation, the agency reports.
According to R. Baucher, the USA shares the opinion on importance and integration of the region." "We are here to support Kazakhstan, the role of Kazakhstan as the major player in the region. We would like to discuss how we can help Kazakhstan with further development and diversification of its economy, and improvement of investment climate," R. Baucher said.
"During the meeting with the Kazakh FM, we spoke about political climate in Kazakhstan," the US Assistant Secretary of State noted. "This is the important time for Kazakhstan, for the region, the important point for cooperation between our countries," R. Baucher considers.
As it was informed earlier, the US Assistant Secretary of State for Southern and Central Asia arrived in Kazakhstan on Monday. R. Baucher's visit will last till February 28.
