Secretariat of the Kyrgyz president made a statement in view of the opposition's refusal to negotiate with authorities on Friday, March 13.

"Secretariat of the Kyrgyz President regretfully took the statements of opposition members about blocking of talks with authorities, reported 24.kg.

The secretariat reminds that at the first consultative meeting with members of the opposition the authorities got the list of issues on criminal cases which to opposition's view were initiated for political reasons. However, some opposition members in interview with mass media said that they cancel talks with the authority, without obtaining the answers for the raised questions from the state bodies and not waiting for the second meeting planned for March 13. Meanwhile, there were no reasonable arguments from the opposition side.

The secretariat is sure that there are people among oppositionists who firstly think about the country but not about satisfaction of personal power ambitions and cancellation of the negotiations was not the final decision of the opposition.

The secretariat points out that it is ready to render further assistance to the negotiation process, which can be held only in form of dialogue but not as squeeze or haggling," the statement read.

The Joint public movement denied the further talks after arrest of the ex-foreign minister Alikbek Jekshenkulov.
