Kyrgyz, Kazakh premiers moot water-power problem

Daniyar Usenov the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan and his Kazakh counterpart Karim Masimov discussed resolving of water-power problem between the countries in course of bilateral talks in Astana the day before, news agency "24.kg" reported.

"We have signed an agreement on Kazakhstan's prepayment for electricity to Kyrgyz side, as a result of which the country would be supplied with electric energy during the whole winter period," Masimov said having met with the Kyrgyz premier.

The head of Kazakh government also outlined that "reached agreements will regulate release of water from Toktogul reservoir and help Kyrgyzstan painlessly to come over the winter."

Decision about Kazakhstan's joining the construction of the main transmission line on Kyrgyz territory has been also made in course of the negotiations. Kyrgyzstan plans construction of new 500 kW electric power substation and the main transmission line which to connect Almaty with Kemin.

Kazakh and Kyrgyz premiers have talked over Kyrgyzstan's entering the Customs Union.

Daniyar Usenov pointed the Kyrgyz government has ordered promptly consider possible joining of the republic the Customs Union of three states. In his opinion, "Kyrgyzstan's membership in the World Trade Organization allows it nowadays."
