Flights still suspended from Kyrgyz base -NATO

Flights from a U.S. air base in Kyrgyzstan in support of NATO military operations in Afghanistan remained suspended on Thursday after political unrest in Kyrgyzstan, the NATO-led force in Afghanistan said, Reuters reported.

The U.S. embassy in Bishkek said Manas air base, which NATO forces use as a way-station to supply the war in Afghanistan, was working normally, but the NATO-led force in Afghanistan said flights from the base had been suspended.

Asked if flights had resumed, Lieutenant-Colonel Tadd Sholtis, spokesman for the NATO-led force, said: "As of right now, no. May change later today."
