Deputy Chairman of the Interim Government of Kyrgyzstan Azimbek Beknazarov refused to take part in parliamentary elections, dpa reported. The statement was voiced at a press conference on Tuesday.

According to him, he took this decision due to the fact that many members of the IG are going to the polls. "I decided to continue working in the government as the curator of the security forces. Moreover, there are many unfulfilled tasks. Roza Otunbayeva has signed a decree appointing me as the Vice-Prime Minister. It is my duty - to conduct fair elections and to stabilize the situation," he said.
