The interim president of Kyrgyzstan believes militiawomen may make significant contribution to stabilize the situation in the country. This statement Roza Otunbayeva voiced today at the foundation conference devoted to creation of the Militiawomen Association.

The interim president of Kyrgyzstan believes militiawomen may make significant contribution to stabilize the situation in the country. This statement Roza Otunbayeva voiced today at the foundation conference devoted to creation of the Militiawomen Association, news agency "24.kg" reported.

"We place a significant emphasis on creation of the Association as the security plays a key role these days and the government makes precisely issue of security and stability the corner-stone. We are aware of responsibility and selflessness of militiawomen, we pay homage to them and are very grateful to them," she stated.

Mrs. Otunbayeva noted that there are 10 percent of women in militia, "many of them are engaged in pedagoguism and in work with juvenile delinquency and not least they will be involved in the work with prevention of the domestic violence."

Let's remind that the new organization is created "for the purpose of development and creation of equal possibilities for professional growth of militiawomen, human right observance and establishing gender equality.'

We need to note that according to the official data number of militiawomen increased 50 percent since 2005.
