U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs William R. Brownfield arrived to Kyrgyzstan with an official visit, reported U.S. Embassy in the KR, news agency "24.kg" reported.
According to it, William R. Brownfield and leadership of the country will discuss the Central Asian initiative on combating drugs and regional anti-drugs strategy in the Central Asia.
Visit of U.S. Assistant Secretary of State William R. Brownfield to Kyrgyzstan is a part of his Central Asian tour. Reportedly, William Brownfield intends to meet with representatives of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Russia "to promote multiple approach in fight against illegal drug trafficking."
The Embassy noted that Government of the U.S. aims at support of law enforcement agencies of the KR, including in fight against illegal drug trafficking and crime.
