Kyrgyz CEC: Almazbek Atambayev receives 62.52 per cent of votes in presidential elections

Presidential candidate Almazbek Atambayev received 62.52 per cent of the votes in the elections, the Kyrgyz Central Election Commission (CEC) reported on Thursday.

Presidential candidate Almazbek Atambayev received 62.52 per cent of the votes in the elections, the Kyrgyz Central Election Commission (CEC) reported on Thursday.

"Based on the Electoral Information System, the CEC received data on 2318 of 2318 precincts (100 per cent). According to preliminary data, candidate Atambayev received 62.52 per cent of the vote, so 1,161,929 citizens voted for him," KirTAG reported referring to the report.

Candidate Adakhan Madumarov is the second on the list of candidates. "After checking the protocols, the number of the voters who voted for candidate Madumarov, did not differ from the data provided by the CEC immediately after the presidential election. He received some 14.78 per cent of votes, so 274, 639 citizens voted for him," the report reads.
Candidate Kamchybek Tashiyev closes the top three presidential candidates. After checking the protocols, his position also remained the same. He received some 14.32 per cent of votes, so 266, 189 citizens voted for him.
The remaining presidential candidates did not receive even one per cent of the votes. Some 13, 419 Kyrgyz citizens, representing 0.72 per cent of total voters, voted against all of 16 candidates.

There was a turnout of 3.32.681 million voters. The final turnout was 1.858. 632 Kyrgyz citizens (61.29 per cent).

The final outcome of the presidential election in Kyrgyzstan will be made public any time up to Nov. 20.
