Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will join the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS), when the results of the organization's activities are seen, CCTS Secretary General Khalil Akinci said at a press conference following the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the CCTS on Wednesday, KyrTAG reported.
"These countries have not expressed yet a desire to join our ranks. We always invite them. Worth noting that when see the results of the CCTS work are seen, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will join the Council themselves," Akinci said.
It should be noted that the UN officially recognized six states of the world as Turkic-speaking - Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan. To date, the CCTS members are Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Kazakhstan.
