Germany should become Kyrgyzstan's \strategic partner in Europe, President Almazbek Atambayev said during a meeting with Federal Economic Cooperation and Development Minister Dirk Niebel on Monday, the presidential press service said.
"Germany must be for Kyrgyzstan main strategic partner in Europe. I consider your visit as a new level of relations between our countries," the president said, according to KyrTAG.
The president stressed that Germany, when being the chairman of the European Union, initiated the adoption of the EU Strategy for Central Asia, in which the priorities are honest governance, human rights and democratization in Central Asia.
"We are pleased that there is an opportunity to work together. We have supported and will support your country," the federal minister said.
