By Elena Kosolapova - Trend: GDP has grown 4.1 percent in Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of 2014, Kabar news agency reported on July 10.

Economic growth is observed in all spheres of economy, the first deputy chairman of the National Statistical Committee Dzhanbolot Baizhumanov said at a press-conference in Bishkek.

"According to preliminary estimates, GDP rose by 4.1 percent in the first six month of 2014 compared to the same period of 2013 and hit 151.7 billion soms (51.9 some = $1) excluding [revenues from] Kumtor [gold field]," Baizhumanov said

Industrial sector growth hit 7.2 percent including Kumtor field and 5 percent excluding Kumtor, he said.

Production growth is also observed in agriculture and construction, according to Baizhumanov.

Meanwhile the rate of inflation in the consumer sector hit 5.9 percent in the reporting period. This index mainly resulted from a rise in food and soft drinks prices. Prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages have increased 9.5 percent since the beginning of the year, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products rose in prices by 6 percent, non-food products by 2.3 percent, and services by 2 percent.
