The opening of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Research Center for Congenital Heart Diseases was held today in Bishkek as part of the ongoing International Scientific and Practical Conference "Actual Issues of Invasive Cardiology", the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic reported, Trend reports referring to kabar.kg.

In addition, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the National Center for Cardiology and Therapy named after Mirrakhimov at the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and Hebei Medical University of China.

Ainagul Dzhumagulova, Director of the National Center for Cardiology and Therapy said that this will make it possible in the future to widely introduce modern methods of diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects into the country's clinical practice, and also contribute to the training of highly qualified specialists in this field. Practitioners and scientists from Central Asia, China, Turkey are joining efforts to achieve a reduction in the death rate of the population from cardiovascular diseases, to improve the quality and prolong active human life.

Endovascular treatments for congenital heart defects have been introduced into the practice of National Center for Cardiology and Therapy of Kyrgyzstan since 2000. In this regard, a great joint experience has been gained of fruitful Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation. Using the endovascular method, successful correction of congenital heart defects was made in 518 patients. In general, during the period of operation of the angiographic installation, more than 18 thousand diagnostic studies and more than 1000 endovascular interventions on the heart and blood vessels were performed at the National Center for Cardiology and Therapy.
