BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 29. Nowadays, Kyrgyzstan is recording an increase in wheat harvest in the northern district of the Chui region, Trend reports with reference to Turmush.kg.

To date, in Kyrgyzstan's Zhaiyl district of the Chui region, harvests are estimated at 19.5 to 50 centners of wheat per hectare, compared to 16 centners per hectare in 2021.

The current increase in the wheat harvest is due to favorable weather conditions, and thanks to the purchase of high-quality seeds from Russia.

According to the deputy head of the executive body (akim) of the Zhaiyl district, Asylbek Nurbekov, at the moment only 4-5 percent of the wheat crop from the total area has been harvested.

"We hope that wheat yields will only grow. Our main task is to save the crop from natural disasters, that's why we ask local farmers to follow safety precautions," Nurbekov said.

In total, about 46,700 hectares are sown in the Zhaiyl region for wheat and barley. This year, the harvest began 10-15 days earlier and is currently in the active phase.
