BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 5. The average wheat yield in Kyrgyzstan has doubled in 2022 compared to the last year, said Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobayev, Trend reports via Cabinet of Ministers.

During a meeting on the issue of harvesting agricultural crops, he said that the average wheat yield in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 27.7 centners per hectare, which is a twofold increase compared to 2021 (14.7 centners per hectare).

"At the moment, the harvesting of grain crops in Kyrgyzstan has been completed, I hope that the harvest will be good," Torobayev said.

He noted that a total of 26 billion soms ($323.9 million) have been allocated for the development of Kyrgyzstan's agriculture this year.

As a result of the meeting, a number of instructions were given to the Ministry of Agriculture, including the need to pay special attention to the harvesting of sugar beet and cotton, the timely work on sowing winter crops etc.
