Wheat prices in Kyrgyzstan among one of highest in EAEU

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 3. Wheat prices in Kyrgyzstan were among one the highest in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in September 2022, Trend reports with reference to the Eurasian Economic Commission.

According to statistics, the average price of a ton of wheat in Kyrgyzstan in September this year was $256, which is 24.5 percent higher than its average price in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus (an average of $205.6 per ton). But in Armenia, the price per ton was set at $413, which is 1.6 times higher than in Kyrgyzstan.

"During the reporting month, the price of barley in Kyrgyzstan was also one of the highest - $221 per ton, higher only in Armenia - $426. Beetroot prices in September were at the level of $377 per ton, which is the highest in the EAEU," the Eurasian Economic Commission reports.

Meanwhile, the prices per 1 ton of tomatoes ($331), cucumbers ($467), potatoes ($208), and cabbage ($216) were among the lowest in the EAEU.
