BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 7. Flows of foreign direct investments (FDI) to Kyrgyzstan significantly increased in the first 9 months of this year, Trend reports via the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the Committee, foreign direct investments in Kyrgyzstan from January through September 2022 amounted to $958 million, which is 1,9 times more than in the same period of 2021.
During the reporting period, the bulk of foreign direct investment (about 96 percent) was directed to enterprises in mining, manufacturing, financial intermediation and insurance, wholesale and retail trade, as well as fields of information and communications.
Meanwhile, among the countries with the most incoming foreign direct investments to Kyrgyzstan were: Türkiye (33.5 percent), China (22.9 percent), the Netherlands (5.9 percent), and the UK (3.3 percent).
