EDB eyes vast investments in Kyrgyzstan in 2023

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 9. Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) prepares to allocate $93 million for projects in Kyrgyzstan in 2023, Ruslan Dalenov, Deputy Chairman of the EDB Management Board, said at a press conference, Trend reports, citing Kyrgyz media.

Dalenov stated that in 2022 the volume of investments of EDB to Kyrgyzstan totaled $16 million. Agreements worth $8 million have already been signed, while several agreements bearing the same value will be concluded prior to the year-end.

The bank expects to allocate $161 million during the following 5 years in various projects, Dalenov said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Management Board of the EDB Nikolai Podguzov stated that Kulanak hydroelectric power plant (HPP) construction is one of the priorities for EDB. Podguzov expressed hope that 2023 will be a breakthrough year in the country.
