BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 23. In the Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan, an oil refinery will be constructed and put into operation by 2025, Trend reports via Kyrgyz Media.
The following statement was made by the head of the board of Kyrgyzneftegaz OJSC Nurgazy Nishanov.
He noted that the oil refinery will meet all requirements and will be able to process 500,000 tons of oil per year. A feasibility study is currently being developed.
Nishanov also disclosed that 200 additional production wells will be drilled as part of the investment project. The task was set to complete the work within 5 years.
Kyrgyzstan's main oil-producing region is the Jalal-Abad region, the exploitation of fields on the territory of which is carried out by the state company "Kyrgyzneftegaz". According to the National Statistical Committee, Kyrgyzstan produced 275,600 tons of crude oil in 2021.
