Kyrgyzstan increases passenger car exports to Russia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 16. Kyrgyzstan's exports of passenger cars to Russia in 2022 increased more than 2.5 times compared to 2021 (308 cars) to 825 cars, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

The value of Kyrgyzstan’s passenger car exports to Russia amounted to $15 million from January through December 2022. In the same period of 2021, the country sold passenger cars worth only $5 million to Russia.

Consequently, Russia ranked first in terms of imports of passenger cars from Kyrgyzstan in 2022. While, Kazakhstan became the second-largest buyer of passenger cars from Kyrgyzstan last year.

The country imported 116 passenger cars worth $1 million from Kyrgyzstan in 2022, which is an increase of 40 percent, over 82 cars in the preceding year.

Also, Kyrgyzstan supplied some 25 passenger cars worth $1 million to Uzbekistan from January through December 2022

In total, Kyrgyzstan exported 990 passenger cars worth $19 million last year, it is an increase of more than twice, compared to the same period in 2021 (437 cars on $8 million).

Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan's imports of passenger cars from Russia totaled 7,136 cars worth $96 million in 2022, increasing by 28 percent from 5,573 cars in 2021.

Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 41,237 passenger cars from January through December 2022. The total value of Kyrgyzstan’s passenger car imports reached $536 million in the reporting period.
