BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 13. The estimated GDP (gross domestic product) growth rate in Kyrgyzstan has amounted to 6 percent from January through February 2023, significantly increasing compared to a 1.1-percent increase in the same period of 2022, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the statistics, the volume of Kyrgyzstan’s GDP made up 111 billion soms ($1.2 billion), in the reporting period.

The manufacturing of goods-producing industries amounted to 30.6 billion soms ($350 million) in the first two months of 2023, with a growth rate of 9.6 percent compared to 0.1 percent during the corresponding period of 2022.

The growth rate of the industries for services provision amounted to 3.9 percent over 1.8 percent from January through February 2022, and totaled 54.7 billion soms ($625 million).

Earlier, the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan has forecasted the growth of the real GDP at 3.4 percent in 2023.

According to the bank, the economic growth would be supported in the agricultural sector by animal husbandry and crop production, in the industrial sector by the resuming operations of currently non-active enterprises and the sustainability of the production of operating enterprises, as well as by the service sector and the construction sector.
