BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 14. Kyrgyzstan imported 1,383 tons of tea from January through February 2023, which is a 5-percent decrease compared to 1,456 tons in the same period of 2022, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
The value of the import totaled $1.7 million, decreasing by near 10 percent over $1.9 million in the corresponding months of 2022.
Statistics noted that in the first months of 2023, Kyrgyzstan imported tea mostly from Kazakhstan – 836 tons for $748,000.
Kyrgyzstan imported tea from the following countries from January through February 2023:

Kenya – 127 tons for $127,500
Pakistan – 126 tons for $138,400
Sri-Lanka – 115 tons for $127,200
Russia – 79 tons for $467,200
China – 66 tons for $75,700
India – 25 tons for $25,500
The value of Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover made up $1.7 billion from January through February 2023, which is a 22.7-percent increase year-on-year ($1.3 billion in the same period of 2023).
Kyrgyzstan’s exports exceed $255.6 million, which is 2 percent more than $250.2 million in the corresponding months of 2022.
The imports to Kyrgyzstan exceeded $1.4 billion, which is a growth of 27.2 percent year-on-year ($1.1 billion from January through February 2022).
